![]() Lava Cracks - Easiest one to counter - just stand in the free space between the cracks. If you, however, weren't able to stun him - this is how you counter each of his attacks Better to be safe than to lose the gamble If you are near the end of his animation and he isn't stunned - back off. The best way to counter a lava attack is to stun him and not gamble whether he will do a Lava Crack or a Lava Cage. There are three types of Lava Attacks he can do and all of them have the same animation. ![]() Charge - he usually does it if he locked you in his Lava Cage or when he does Lava Cracks.Disarm - Free damage, just don't fail the QTE (like me when I almost beat him) After you complete it immediately run for your sword and spam B(xbox). If you are in a confined space however you can try to dodge it point blank but your timing must be perfect Best way to deal with it is to dodge backwards twice. Explosion - Unparriable attack where he just decides to explode. The problem with dodge is that sometimes armstrong can run in a circle at the speed of light and get you anyway, to counter this try to first dodge away when he's only starting the animation and then time your dodges well. Best way to counter it is to Ninja Run but Dodge works well too. College Ball - Unparriable attack where he charges at you.Best way to deal with it is to stun Armstrong but if he executes the attack anyway you should try to run in a circle and get behind Armstrong's attack - the area will be pretty spacious but the attacks will also be different. It locks you in a confined space and homes in on you as you try to run. Lava Cage - The worst lava attack he can do.Lava Cracks - The best lava attack he can do, since it is the easiest one to counter - just stand in the free space between the cracks.Dodge if you are in a confined space to not get hit by the lava Normal Attacls - just Parry, nothing special.Lava Line - The one he does in the beginning, just a straight line of lava, easily countered with a well timed Dodge (dodge the second he punches the ground). If you are like me and pretty much only spam YYYYYYY then this is going to be a game breaker for you, since you no longer need to worry about vulnerability frames - just activate Zaindatsu for a millisecond and you are free of all the pain and suffering you would've otherwise experienced Reaper Mode - activated by pressing on both the Left and Right Stick but you should know if you've got this farĪlso, before I start, you should know of a handy maneouvere: using Zaindatsu to stop your animation of a heavy attack. Ninja Run - what you use to block bullets and parkour with Parry - Self-explanatory, X+↑/↓/→/← depending on where the enemy is Zaindatsu - Blade mode that Raiden uses to cut through weakspots Starting out I'm going to explain a bit of terminology I will use in this guide:ĭodge - Defensive Offense, A must have skill - only costs 3000 and without it you won't be able to properly avoid his yellow shining attacks (College Ball and Explosion) So through trial and error I have developed a strategy on how to get him down to 160% without any healthkits because I wasted all of them before the fight. I personally haven't found any good guides for his final phase except maybe for "Strong Arming Armstrong" but it wasn't enough. The lyrics, “It’s only the cold wind I feel” could be referencing the Winds of Destruction. This guide serves as a reference for people like me who decided to play through the game on Very Hard but still suck at the game. The lyrics, “Because the mountains don’t give back what they take” references him losing his arm before the events of the main game. Some of the lyrics mention a “mountain,” which is his goal to realize why he fights. Unlike most of the boss themes, the lyrics are lost in the second phase of the fight, when Sam is forced to rely on his cybernetic arm and martial arts skills. The demo version of this song is "heavier" than the main game's Maniac Agenda Mix voice, drums and battery are most pronounced, like Locked & Loaded. The lyrics references Raiden and Sam’s final duel, and his involvement in Desperado Enforcement LLC. The lyrics describe how he has forgotten the reasons why he fights, but that he can't stop himself because he feels as though it is the only way he knows how to live. " The Only Thing I Know for Real" is the boss theme for Samuel Rodrigues in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
