![]() The base game is too cramped in the urban areas which populate it to need these items, whereas The Following allows these to be useful without making them too powerful. This is also where The Following shines with its addition of more guns, bows, and crossbows which allow the open spaces of the countryside to become a manageable combat zone. You buy the game to run around in a zombie apocalypse in terror of the night. However, no one bought the game for the story. In some ways the story for The Following is better than the base game, which while not terrible, is predictable. That is a delicate balance which is well struck. The Following also acts as a great continuation of the story from the base game without requiring its completion to makes sense. I don't like driving games but I love using this little dune buggy. There are caves and a small town which rely on the parkour of the base game, so it isn't entirely left behind, however the new mechanic makes sense and is very well put together. The countryside isn't rife with skyscrapers, so parkour doesn't make a whole lot of sense, hence they give you a buggy to give you the mobility you enjoyed from the base game. In this expansion you play in the countryside, which is why you have access to a little dune buggy. The Following is a great expansion to the game which allows for a new way to play. If you don’t want to read the whole review, I will summarize it now: the Season Pass is too expensive for what you actually get. The base game is fantastic, however I cannot say the same for all the DLC. Dying Light's Season Pass is a mixed bag.
